Blame Foot Pain on High Heel Wearing Celebs

Once again foot problems and high heels are in the news. If you follow the issue, then you will recall that every few months, a podiatrist will make the rounds in newspapers all over the globe, complaining that injuries are on the rise due to high heels.

Fair enough. However, its the part about it being the fault of celebrities in particular Paris Hilton, Victoria Beckham, Beyonce Knowles, as well as Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen that has me seeing red.

Victoria Beckham

It's no secret that Victoria Beckham practically lives in her high heels, but thats her business. Any ankle, leg and back problems that arise from too much heel wearing will affect her, not me, not you. As she teetered around in a pair of Antonio Berardi heel-less platform shoes and heel-less thigh high latex boots, I simply wondered if they were comfortable. I did not think that I just had to have them, and if I broke something wearing them, then its obviously Mrs. Beckham's fault.

We usually see Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen wearing high heel shoes that are bigger than they are, but there are no captions that say we have to wear what they wear.

Beyonce Knowles continuously changes up her fashion and when her recent album "I am Sasha Fierce" came out, there were many publicity shots, including this one that featured Beyonce clad in a leotard and high heeled ballet shoes. Very pretty, but they are not exactly practical for every day use. And lets not forget the Lego heels Beyonce sported that seem to be equally loved/hated by many.

Like Victoria Beckham, Paris Hilton is almost always wearing high heel shoes, and she has also been photographed with what looks to be bunions on her size 11 feet. Far from telling you that you need to be wearing the same shoes as her, doesn't this seem like a great ad as to why you should avoid prolonged use of high heels?

My point is this, celebrities are used to sell a lot of products, but its up to you to buy them. And no one is forcing you too. So when your limping your way into the podiatrist, remember that your not a child, and high heel wearing celebrities did not force you to wear heels until you damaged your feet.

Gwen Stefani L.A.M.B Heels

I'm not a huge fan of Gwen Stefani's fashion but I do love a lot of outfits and shoes in her clothing line L.A.M.B. I especially love these high heel pumps. The thin heel and clunky toe, adds style to this classic shoe, but the dual buckles is what really makes it a must have for my high heel collection.

Balenciaga Gladiator Boots - I Love Them

There's been a bit of a debate on the Internet about the Balenciaga gladiator boots that are seen here on Rihanna. Over the last few months, many have voiced their dislike and down right hate about these gorgeous stiletto's, and consider them a huge fashion faux pas but I love them.

I don't know what it is, I mean they are odd looking (and expensive - $6945) but they are also fabulous.

What do you think about these strange and lovely heels?

It's safe to say that Rihanna also loves the Balenciaga high heel boots, as she has worn them on multiple occasions

These are the gladiator style sandals, but I don't like them as much as the knee high boots above.

I find that there are many high heel shoes and boots that look good in one color, but are absolutely hideous in another color. However, I like the looks of these gladiator heels regardless of the color.

Claret Velvet By Anne Klein

The Claret Velvet by Anne Klein is extremely beautiful with its deep red shade, matching broach and toes. The only problem I have with these shoes is the lack of straps. I love strappy sandals but more than that, these type of heels can sometimes slip off the wearers heel. Beyond that I have to say I love these high heel sandals.

Balenciaga Lego High Heel Shoes - Sexy or Crazy?

Balenciaga is a great designer but I have had to raise a brow at some of his high heel shoe designs over the years. In 2007, many people raised a brow when they were first introduced to his high heel shoe that many people felt resembled something made by a child using Lego blocks. Off a runway, I do not think that most women would run to by these heels unless someone paid them to.

I have grown fond of the shoe design but I still would not wear it. I would however like to add it to a collection just to be looked at. These heels are also expensive, coming in at a whopping $4,175 a pair. Sexy crooner, Beyonce was spotted at the AMA's wearing and performing in a pair of these eye catching shoes and all over the internet fans and haters have wondered if she owns a mirror. Let's just hope that they came with the regular celebrity swag and that she did not actually pay for them.

These heels come in bright ugly and plain black but as if that wasn't bad enough, the designer decided that making them into a variety of flats couldn't possibly make them any uglier. Wrong!

Drew Barrymore Sexy In Black

Vanity Fair Italy has since been cancelled but these photos are of Drew Barrymore in sexy black high heels from 1992 taken by Peter Duke. You can check out or purchase some of his other works here.

Sarah Jessica Parker In Heels

Sarah Jessica Parker is usually a hit or miss when it comes to her dress style but one thing that she knows is shoes. From one sexy high heel to another Ms. Parker is usually decked out in a sexy Jimmy Choo to a sensual Alexander McQueen.
